How have baseball card values done recently?
I have quite a collection I built through the 90′s. When I stopped around 2000 it seemed like there was an explosion of new brands and types of cards, which I would think would lower value. And of course there was the steroid scandal and inflated statistics. Just curious as I’ve been away from the hobby for a few years now.
I was a huge collector as well from about 1987-1993. That was the baseballcard boom period. So any cards around that time are not worth much, because many are circulating. This is kinda off topic but since you are a baseball card guy I thought I would share this with you. I had an 1989 Uperdeck Ken Griffey JR rookie card, heck I had the whole 89 Uperdeck set, but I remember trading my Griffer for a 1990 Score Bo Jackson football/baseball black and white card. At the time Beckett priced both of them at $13 dollars. About 2 years later the Griffey was worth $110 the Bo Jackson unlisted meaning a .05 cent value. Easily my worst move ever.
