Baseball Hitting Machines
preparing for college baseball. Is this going to help?
I’m walking on or maybe a scholarship to a college D1 or D2 baseball team. Been in contact with some coaches. I’m 17. Will be senior in the fall.
How I work on hitting 90mph pitching is hitting 70mph pitching machine from 46 feet away(it might be closer).
70mph is reaction time from 46 feet away is 0.448 sec
90mph is reaction time from 60 feet 6 inches is 0.458 sec
Will this prepare me enough for college fastballs?
Hitting a fastball is nothing more than timing. Work on your bat speed to hit a harder thrown pitch, there are a lot of ways to do that, but hitting the weights or swinging a bat under water seem to be the best results. I would be much more concerned about hitting off speed pitches rather than the fastball as it takes the ability to recognize the pitch out of the pitchers hand.
