Baseball Party Favors
If this Clemens Fiasco is any Indication, what do we get to look forward to with Sen. Spectre?
A complete and utter joke.
This Clemens thing has already de-volved to Party lines, with the Republicans backing Clemens, and the Dems backing Macnamee.
Already we have had in the preceeding 2 weeks, Roger Clemens meet and sign autographs for 24 of the 40 members present (which is ILLEGAL for the Congressman to have accepted)
The best Line? This man is a Titan of Baseball! (apparantly that automatically makes him honest and trustworthy.)
Nothing is being accomplished. It’s a joke. BTW… unless something new comes up…Clemens is red-handed guilty. Not one shred of credible evidence in his favor, he keeps contradicting himself, etc…but just watch. Congress will sign with him. Mom, God, Baseball and Apple Pie..Rah, rah.
Does anyone expect any better from Sen Sphincter….. or does he need to shove off?

There is just one aspect to the baseball thing that makes it all a waste of time to me. Football didn’t go through this when they had problems with steroids, and while players will still take that risk, it never resulted in the man-drama we see today. I think it is a clear indictment of how badly the Major Leagues have deteriorated the once respectable reputation of baseball. It especially illustrates to me just how inept a commissioner Bud Selig is.
I hope the angle that Arlen Specter is pursuing has nothing to do with sour grapes. To me, at least that endeavor has some merit in that it has something to do with the laws of fair business practices – even though it is a stretch at best.
I miss the old days sometimes.
