What is a good baseball workout program?

I have a son who is a sophomore in high school and he’s looking for a good baseball workout. He pitches and plays 3rd. He already long tosses regularly. He wants to build speed on his pitches and power behind his hitting. We have heard of a program called Tuff Cuff. Some people have also said to just do P90X. Any suggestions?

If he wants to be a pitcher and throw harder P90X is a bad idea. It will make his upper body over cumbersome and will actually slow him down. Despite popular belief big arms and chest do not make you throw harder as they create and less fluid motion and more labored delivery. Best exercise for pitchers is legs squats, press anything that strengthens your legs. Also a strong core will help with both pitching velocity and bat speed.
