Baseball Scoreboards
what does this mean on a baseball scoreboard?
im watching giants-astros game… and the camera showed the scoreboard on left field in minute maid.. and it has like a category thats is a P and there are numbers like 39-29-55-57.. and next to that has the teams name, then the score, how many hits, etc. but what does the numbers under the P category mean??
Jersey numbers for the pitchers in those games. Typically the basic scorecard sold at the park has pitching staff lists for all the teams, so if you’re at the park you can sort out who’s on the mounds around the league.
Pre-game — scheduled starting pitchers.
In progress — current pitchers.
Post-game — winning and losing pitchers.
