Where could I find more info on old song?
My mother used to sing a song to us about someone who had a really long name, and how he had to get married “a bit at a time.”
She also sang one called “Rickety Jim” about a guitar player in Ouray Colorado, and one about playing baseball with a drunken crowd and being shipped home on a cattle train.
I had the feeling they were all from the 1910′s to the 1940′s. but I am not sure. She didn’t know…she used to clean house for a family in town when she was a teen, and they sang the song to her. She was born in 1925 or so.
