Baseball Training Supplies

I need a good all around workout. Please help?
Ok, here’s the deal: I am a teenager. I am an athlete. I play basketball and baseball. I am very tall for my age and skinny. I need to bulk up. I have decent muscles already, but I need more. I need an all around workout that I can do every day to gradually build muscle. By all around, I mean upper body such as arms, abs, pecks, shoulders, an so on. The only problem I have is that I have a limited supply of weight training equipment. I have some dumbbells, a pullup bar, and an elastic band, and that’s pretty much it. so if you guys could tell me what to do, how to do it, and how often, that would be great.
The new research in the area of Weight Lifting is making life so easy for us! It’s now recommended that we ditch long workouts and instead stick to lifting heavy weights in compound exercises.
By this I mean chose exercises that use a lot of muscles limiting the need for lots of exercises! All you need is a “push”, a “pull” and a compound “leg” exercise and you will have a full body workout. I recommend a dip or bench press for the push. These are BIG exercises that you can lift heavy.
The DIPS will be best for your chest because they require only a couple of bars that you might be able to find at your local park or school. I have ref’d a youtube vid for this. (note I am not recommending “tricep dips”)
For your pull exercise get into some chin ups with a supinated grip. Look it up if you’re not sure what “supinated” means.
For your legs I would get into some squats eventually working toward single leg lunges. Treat lunges like a single leg squat with a trainer wheel rather than the old fashioned upright lunge. For good lunges as I described you are best to have almost all of your weight on the front leg and use the rear leg like a balance check only. Bend at the hips as you would for a squat.
Hope this helps… resistance without weights is possible and you can build size. I am a fitness trainer and a weight loss coach. I have included my blog site ref for your info. (1st ref)
Enjoy the workouts then enjoy lots of rest between – I’m talking at least a week if you are failing. The body grows during rest, and your training results takes weeks to diminish but if you haven’t fully recovered you will not grow at all.
Good luck
