Help on my baseball (batting)?
Ok. So I’m 14 and going to join a local youth baseball team last time I played baseball I was 12 about to be 13 and I remember I was pretty good. Now because if my age I am forced to play in a u16 league and I wS kind of frightened about how fast 16 year olds can pitch ( witch according to some websites is 70 mph) since when I played I was only 12 the pitches I hit were probably 40-5 mph so I was wondering if anyone knew how I could train myself not only to hit these pitches but to recognize if they are balls or strikes. I wanted to start playing again so I could join my hs team after this summer any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advanced sebastian.
70 MPH is really JV speed(It’s also below too). Since you’re fourteen, I anticipate you’ll be in high school next year, so it’ll be good to see faster pitching. Anyways, just make sure you see the ball well (Soft toss helps with seeing the ball) and start your swing earlier. You can also workout your core, upper body, and lower body to get a faster swing.

Assist and Put out.
Assist is when a fielder throws the ball to a baseman and he records the out. A put out is given to the player who makes the out (catches the ball) Put outs are given to catchers on strikeouts.

ok, so i’m gonna be trying out for my high school softball team this coming up year. What does a softball/baseball coach look for in a player? and any tips that’ll help me

What is your take on him
My son is 14 and is on a youth baseball team, he is a catcher, and during practice catchers are only required to wear a catchers mask while catching, I would like him to wear all the protective equipment he can, but he says he doesnt need it because it is just practice. What areas should he be worried about getting hurt in particular while catching without protection?
Right now, since the heat all he wears is pants and a tshirt. he doesnt even like wearing undies because its so hot.
That’s incredible. Doesn’t the league or the school have an official policy on protective gear? My son is only 7, and his league has rules on the wearing of protective gear for all games and practices. Specifically: cups at all times, batting helmets, and catcher’s mask and padding.
If the coach isn’t going to do his job, you need to insist that your son properly protect himself.
