Baseball Training Defense
Baseball Training Defense

Insecurity? Scared? Please help..?
I live in this country club, but it isnt a big one. Last night, somebody broke into my neighbors house and stole some things. I am really worried, because they can hurt my family, and i dont want that to happen. I havent taken self defense classes or anything like that, i only have a Baseball bat. If they break in, what is the best way to “comfront” them, I havent trained or anything like it, I just dont want them to hurt my family.
**I suggest you keep your baseball bat somewhere where you can access it easily. Whether that place is behind your couch, under your couch-cushion, in your closet, or even under your bed, then by all means keep it there. If a robber were to break in, you’d need to be able to grab it quick.
**Same thing goes for knives. I suggest getting a knife and storing it somewhere accessible, as well. Since most knives are small, it’s easier to hide them in places than you could a baseball bat (though that doesn’t mean knocking someone’s lights out is a bad idea). I suggest keeping a knife or two somewhere accessible in your house, as well. Make sure they’re sharp. A dull knife wouldn’t do much damage. Be sure to be careful when handling a knife, though.
Wrapping it up in a washrag or something will help prevent the knife into cutting into your furniture, if you decide to store it somewhere like underneath the couch cushion. Though remember, you’ll (hopefully) be the one to pull the knife out, so if you think you won’t be able to unwrap the knife from the washrag in time to stab someone (robber), then I suggest not even worrying about the rag. Your welfare is much more important than furniture could ever be<3
**Guns. I suggest you buy yourself one. Make sure you have the right permits, though. I think locking this in a cabinet would be safer so the robber wouldn't get a hold of it, and blow your brains out. By locking it, you'll be the only one to know the lock-combination so you'll be able to reach the guns faster and better than some crook who doesn't know. That's just common sense, right?
Always check and make sure if the gun is loaded. If you ever DO get robbed, and the barrel in the gun is empty, then just point it at the robber and threaten the person. More than likely, they'll believe the gun has some sort of bullet inside it, and will flee the scene. But keep bullets in the gun, anyway, in case the robber doesn't budge after all. It's better safe than sorry, right? =]
**Call 911, or your nearest police station. This is where portable cell phones come in handy. Just keep in mind cell phones are impossible to track down, by police. If you were to call on a cell phone, then unless you tell the police your address, they'd never be able to find you.
**Lock all doors at night.
**If you think someone is in your house, hide imediately. In a closet, or underneath your bed (with your handy baseball bat, gun, or even knife in hand hopefully) will hopefully shield you from being scene by the robber.
Hope this helps. You'll be in my prayers, though something tells me that you and your family will be alright ;D
