Have a question about Major League Baseball?!?
Okay, before you put in rude comments, i’m not reallly a sports gal…so i don’t know that much about sports (other than volleyball of course). So can someone tell me about the season? Like when does it start and finish, and what is Spring training? Good answers are greatly appreciated!
Btw- what do players usually do off-season? i know it really depends, but…still…don’t they get bored?
Good question. MM117 gave you a good overview. I would add that numerous players,especially in the minor leagues(have not reached the big leagues yet) play winter ball to sharpen their skills in Florida or a warm weather country.
The established players that do not play in the off season, enjoy their families, golf, fish or whatever anyone does.
I don’t reply with rude comments and if you get any ignore them. Any legitimate question should be answered in a polite manner.

What do i need to do to figure out what words mean?
I went to a baseball game with my friend the other night. I live in New York City that has a subway system with trains numbered 1-9. I am a guy age 27. Then an inning or so later, 2 guys with their girlfriends sit next to us. Ages 23-24. As the game is going we start talking. I am mostly talking to one of the guys and he is relaying the conversation to his girlfriend. Then the girlfriend starts asking me about the number of the train that goes to my house. And I don’t catch the cue (hint) that perhaps she wanted my number for one of her friends. am i just flattering myself or do you think she really wanted my phone number to give to her friends. And if she was just hinting am I stupid for not picking up on the hint or do people always beat around the bush when they do things. I am so upset about it because those girls were pretty, smart and fun and I would love to have a girlfriend like that.
You sound a bit young for 27 and therefore like a younger person you lack intuition and theory of mind. That is the ability to pick up or understand anothers moods, emotions and feelings.
If someone is interested they will see you again otherwise the girl was probably running out of things to ask you and was desperately tring to make conversation by asking you a basic and inane question.
It is not just about picking up on the fact that people like you – you probably lack conversation skills as well- hence you don’t pick up on what people are saying .
The art of conversation is to listen- not just physically but you must psychologically take in what people are saying to you.
You must read body language look at their movements and make eye contact.
If you are not sure – ask people to repeat the question or statement by stating ” Pardon” or “I did not catch that”.
Do not have an hidden agenda when you speak to people just aim to have a conversation.
My tip is to find out five pieces of information about a person that you cannot gather by looking at them after a 10 minute conversation. So just don’t say they are female , pretty, 23, slim and blonde hair.
You should find out the name of a pet, a hobby, if they have any siblings, fav Tv program etc. Information you could only get by directly asking a question.
If you find out too much or too little about a person you are not having a proper conversation. They are either dominating or you are not speaking enough.

what is the fastest way to build a website and start making money?
I have a website idea and feel i could make money as soon as it is ready…..but I have a limited budget…I have purchased the domain name but struggle with making the website on wordpress.com… (i know that is pretty ridiculous)…anyway i want to start off selling low priced basic baseball training documents (geared towards parents) and eventually sell baseball related equipment, shirts, hats, etc..any feedback is appreciated. The same basic training documents apply to all age groups…..from 4 yrs old all the way up to college and professional level athletes.
Give the documents away for free, nobody is going to buy them from an unknown person. If they are good and you advertise, this will start getting you recognition and vistors to your site. Then you will be able to sell baseball equipment.
With this type of business, you’re not going to go anywhere without at least a little bit of venture capital. I’d say in the range of $10,000 – $20,000 if you work really really hard. Write up a business plan and take it to a few banks to try to get a business loan.
As well as some business contacts to find reasonably priced wholesale baseball equipment, you could actually make a profit on. Which is EXTREMELY hard online, there are always sites out there who will undercut you, especially eBay. There are professional eBayers who have markups as low as 2% and buy their goods directly from the manufacturers. (Most real life shops go through several middle men between the manufacturer and the retail store)
If this isn’t the way, put the documents into a book and try to find a publisher.
Unfortunately, if this was 15yrs ago during the Dot Com boom, you’d probably do pretty well. However, today the Dot Com boom is long over and stuff like this just doesn’t work anymore. If I want cheap baseball equipment, I’ll search Google Shopping or eBay to find the absolute lowest price.
